Old single bit axe head - $25 (New Castle)

Hand forged ax head, likely iron, found at the edge of a field near an old cemetery in Henry County. Its single bit, heavily oxidized w heavy pitting. No makers or marks observed. The area this came from in Henry County wasn't settled until the 1830's and from what ive read theee were several blacksmiths in the Hillsboro community. I have not tried to clean it up aside from water and a brush. I haven't a clue about it's age but my friend who's a journeyman blacksmith says it's old.$25 obo

Porch pickup at my home off 103N and 250N on Hillsboro Rd a couple of miles northeast of New Castle.
